We all leave parts of ourselves out of the conversation.
Lost parts, forgotten parts, parts we deem unacceptable or less worthy of love.
Individual therapy is the process of identifying and reclaiming those parts, so you can come to approach life from a place of wholeness guided by your deepest values and longings.
Individual therapy is a conversation…
–between mind, body, and spirit,
…between past and present.
That allows greater consciousness, compassion, and courage to emerge.
It’s a conversation that helps you change and grow.
My role is to listen wholeheartedly.
Being listened to without agenda or judgment will allow you to hear yourself in new ways, and this invites new behaviors.
As I’m learning what it’s really like for you, you will learn to more fully inhabit all the conversations in your life – the ones you have with yourself, and the ones you have with others.
This may sound a bit esoteric to some, but it’s ultimately the way practical skills emerge.
How do you know you’re leaving parts of yourself out of the conversation?
The indicators are many, but they commonly show up as:
a harsh inner critic
perfectionism
resentment
lack of vitality
indecision
angry outbursts
fatigue
lack of creativity
disconnection
relationship issues
a need for control
caretaking others at your own expense
Ironically, these challenges can be your greatest teachers. In individual therapy, we will approach them with curiosity and attention so they can reveal the necessary next steps on your path to healing.
If you are ready to include more of yourself in the conversation, now is the time to reach out and experience the transformational possibilities of individual therapy.
